Caravan Roof Access on Bailey Alu-Tech

Is it safe to place a light weight extension ladder against the awning rail of a Bailey Alu-Tech caravan to gain access to the roof for cleaning or will it cause damage to the van. I have tried access via a free standing step ladder but do not feel safe
doing this. Any suggestions?
