Scottish affiliated sites

I have recently booked a stay at Blair Drummond by email. I received a reply stating that I had to pay a deposit by telephoning between 9am – 1pm or 2pm – 5pm.

I am at work between these times and due to the nature of my work I do not have access to a telephone during these times, (I am contactable in emergencies only). However when I finally managed to make the call I informed them that I would be arriving between
12 – 2pm  I was informed that I could not arrive between 1 and 2 because the site office would be closed for lunch. This would give me a 1 hour window in which to arrive or park outside until 2pm. This does not happen on club sites, it should not be allowed
to happen on affiliated sites, have they not heard of staggered lunch breaks?

To rub salt into the wound they could not even be bothered to email a receipt for the deposit or confirmation of the booking, this is clearly not good enough.

If commercial sites want to benefit from the caravan club they should be at least bookable by email and remain open for arrivals all day from 12pm as per normal caravan club procedure.

I would like to know what other members think of this.
