Route advice from Leeds to Edinburgh

Urgent advice Please

We are going to Edinbough tomorrow from Leeds area.  Can please please give advice on best route.  Seems a mix of M62 up M6/M74 and onto A702.

A1 onto A66 over to M6 or just up A1

Being quite new and this is only the 4 trip out as much info as possible pease
