Bailey caravans
Letter sent to Baileys customer services
I contacted Campbells at their service centre about the front stone guard panels on my Bailey Pegasus 2 Verona . Which I purchased new in April 2011 from Campbells. I noticed while we were away on holiday in the van, that the nearside front panel was coming away from the bodywork, but also all of the panels were becoming discoloured. Campbells told me they would order a full set from yourselves and they would arrange for the van to come in and be repaired. I am reliably informed that this was a fault known to yourselves and that these panels have been replaced under the warranty conditions of other vans.. The appearance of the van is spoiled by this. I have received notice today from Campbells that the fault will not be rectified under warranty, as the fault should have been reported within the first 2 years. I am really disappointed with this outcome and it seems I am being penalised for spotting a known fault 5 months too late. The van has been fully serviced as per warranty conditions

Mr Murphy good afternoon, I am very sorry but the information you have been given is correct, under the terms of our warranty we would only cover this item for a period of 2 years. I am very sorry that I can not assist further on this point.

Hi again
Of course, if you are not satisfied with the service you receive from a company, even if its only as a gesture of good will. The customer has always the option of voting with their feet.
As caravanners, who change their van every three to four years, this is what we will do. This will be our first and last Bailey caravan. We will also publish on the various forums we belong to our experience of dealing with Bailey and the outcome.
.
Best wishes Peter Long time caravanner.
Comments please. Am I being unreasonable? ?
Edit: I've edited this post slightly, just to remove the big green space at the bottom of the post. Regards, David (DSB)
