Alko Hitch/Detachable towball/VW Tiguan

Is it necessary to have an Alko Hitch with a detachable towball? We currently have a standard hitch & use a blade stabiliser when towing with our Freelander. Been advised to have a detachable towbar on VW Tiguan (due to reversing sensors) that we are thinking
of buying. Need to know if the caravan hitch has to be swapped. Any help appreciated. Cheers.
