Newbie. Making the right choice, buying towbar.

HI All.

My first post Happy

I have a VW GOLF MK4 2003 GT TDI PD150. I am searching to buy a towbar, and coming across questions I'm not sure of the anwsers. I want to buy a 4 berth caravan. I can only afford a used one. Doubt too, I can stretch to anything newer than 2003 model. Therefore
what electrics to I buy? I know there are converters, but would like to get this right without them. Since I cannot afford a newer caravan, should I get the 13 pin or a dual 7 pin electrics fitted??  Thanks for any help received.

PS. I am looking at getting the detachable towbar, if that helps my answer??
