Coachman VIP 575 views please
We are seriously considering buying a 2017 Coachman 575. We like the layout and the fact that the bed base has a wood effect frame around it instead of the grey plastic on the Swift caravans.
Our concern is that the kitchen drawer bases seem flimsy and that the quality of the interior does not seem to be upto the quality of our present 2009 Coachman VIP ( we want a rear washroom which our present van doesn't have). Have also noted that the plastic
sink drainer appears poor quality.
Can we have the views from owners of recent model Coachman VIPs please.

They are probably having to go down the route of most UK manufacturers,by trying to make their vans lighter,to enable uk buyers who want to have all the latest fads/kit and still tow without the need for big cars,so something has to give over the channel
vans are(it seems?) built better? but if fitted out as uk buyers want would probably need a Hummer to tow with0 -
the Discussions page the Title is 535 not 575, and thats the one readers will see first!
Mmmm that's strange , when I view the discussions main page it shows Coachman VIP 575 views yet when you open the link it does indeed show 535
Can someone correct it to the correct title on all pages i.e.
Coachman VIP 575 views

Yeah I appreciate that they are trying to get caravans lighter but the 2017 VIP 575 is 35kg heavier than my present 2009 VIP 535. I wish the new van was lighter and could then understand.

KPH, I think that your reservations about certain aspects are probably as a result of the Coachman weight loss programme. My 2014 Pastiche 565 is one of the last of the heavyweights, and I think that its certainly built to a better standard than the subsequent lighter models. However I have to say that with the difficulty that I have experienced in finding a tow car of sufficient muscle to cope with a van of well over 1600kgs, I wish that I had known about the lighter models coming in the following year.
In saying that I do appreciate that the VIP's are heavier again than the Pastiche, but suspect that some of the weight saving in lesser models has crossed over.

No more "kit" Main difference our present van has a tandem shower/ toilet and the 575 has a rear washroom with separate shower, which is our main reason for changing. I fact our present van has more bolster cushions in the front seating area which gives
you a back rest on the seat as you enter the van0 -
Hi kph we ordered our 2016 VIP 575 from last years NEC show and after a good few outings this year we are still really pleased with everything about it,not had a single warranty issue or any concerns.
we looked at all the vans at NEC and in our opinion the coachman was by far the best quality would highly recommend this van to you

Thanks for all the replies.
We have bought the Coachman VIP 575, build date is last week November 2016 so will be collected by us early December 2016.
Had thought about waiting for the NEC show next week but thought that the delivery was then likely to have been next year (one dealership did quote April 2017 if ordered now).

Bought the van from Raymond James in Atherstone. Dealt with Darren, a pleasure to deal with, he is a caravaner himself and was very helpful. I would certainly recommend him.

Hi KPH,
When I went to spinney spoke to Barry who gave a great p/x on my van, he told me it would be January delivery and I don't hand the van over until I pick the new one up and p/x is what we agreed at time of order. Called in at Wanderhome at Ferrybridge Yorkshire
today looked at elddis affinity very nice caravan. Didn't want to go to the caravan show but I might have to because I'm undecided what to go for now.0 -

Raymond James do both Coachman and Eldiss
I got more confused the more vans I looked at and started to get them mixed up, what had what and which one hadn't. The previous shows I have been to were even more confusing, it seemed at times that we looking in the same caravan as everyone else at the
show and we were all in the van at the same time!Perhaps a phone call to Raymond James will beat the other offer you got as I found with them.
Let us know what your decision is no matter what you do , good hunting

Went to Raymond James on Saturday spoke with Darren and yes slightly beat Spinney price on the coachman. If I could fit the VIP down my drive I would have bought one but we were looking at the pastiche which me and the wife said it looked a bit plain. We set our hearts on the Elddis Affinity 554 lovely van exactly what we wanted until I got home and read some of the reviews about cracked panels and also one of two having problems with floors. Thinking of starting discussion to see if people are still having problems with the 2016 affinity panels and floors. So up to now we haven't ordered a van.
