Hard standing

I prefer grass pitches, as it seems that more Club sites are all hard standing I am using more private sites, the sites often resemble a car park, if hard standing,why put grey chippings on all of the pitch surely only the caravan/ motorhome needs the hard
standing, in France this year I noticed that sites were using the type of bricks that let the grass grow through,they looked much nicer, I feel that the club is adopting the hard standing route to accommodate motor homes who sometimes find it difficult to
drive off a grass pitch if wet.
