New caravan has damaged tow ball: whose problem?
I have just purchased a 3 y.o. caravan from a dealer with an alko 1300 hitch fitted. I followed the instructions perfectly to completely clean my tow ball of paint and grease to an immaculate shine before collecting the caravan and even showed the dealer
that it was immaculate before attaching it.
After my first journey with the caravan the tow ball has deep scores in the surface at the front and slightly to the sides.
I have asked the Dealer about it and they say it must be poor casting of the tow ball. The tow ball has been used previously (It is 3 years old) and never had a problem before. Should they take responsibility for this?
Do I need a replacement tow ball (it's removable so will cost £299, eek!) or can I just rub it down and continue using it?
This has rather put a damper on our conversion from campervanning to caravanning so far .
Any advice would be gratefully received, thanks in advance.
