Lightweight equipment

Being mindful of weight I prefer to have melamine plates and dishes (not cups, I HATE melamine cups) but I cannot find any decent ones that are the right size.  If they are a decent design they are too big, if they are the right size, they are the most hideous,
awful colour.   I bought some from Ikea but they have a 'lip' which makes it impossible to stand them in the racks.  If I lay them down, they don't fit in the overhead cupboards, plus the fact I cannot reach them being short......!!!   Does anyone know where
I can buy plates and dishes that are not garish colours, or of a design that would make you feel ill before you ate anything?   I would prefer plain white in 9", not bigger that 10".  Help!
