Nissan X Trail mpg

Hello everyone, I have recently purchased a 2007 Nissan X trail 2.2 litre diesel. I tow a lightly loaded Ace award tristar 4 berth. The combination tows very well, it feels very stable and has all the performance I  could wish for. The only grit in my vaseline
is the mpg. A rough calculation gives me around 24mpg. Is this about right ? The 2 litre diesel mondeo I had before gave me well into the 30s. Do others with a similar outfit get a similar result?
