Whitewater Park MHSP
I have read on another site that the CC have installed a grid over the drain on the MHSP at Whitewater, the first step of the 20 year journey has begun

hopefully it still takes black as well as grey waste?

We will probably eventually get a motorvan and the grid sort certainly look more user friendly than the manholes. However, an AS site we visited recently had a grid over part of the Cassette CDP and this resulted in paper etc being stuck on it. The same would be likely to happen with the road level grids if used for black waste, plus splashing over the adjacent area. Not very nice in the case of those immediately outside of the toilet block.?? I would hope a separate manhole type would be provided for black waste.

I think the Club are working on a system that accepts both grey and black waste but the black waste will be a separate point with a cover rather than a grid. I expect its the provision of both that is delaying the roll out programme?
I recently sent the Club a photo of a slightly different type of waste point I came across in Germany which would have done for both but I think they have already embarked on their current plans.

As long as the provision still includes a way to dump onboard black tanks I dont think it matters how they do it. Although we don't need this anymore I just think it would be a retrograde step to only have grey waste provision for MHs

This type is quite common on the French Aires, I have also seen it on some sites, sometimes with a cover which often seem to get damaged or is never closed, like this one at Las Dunas.
Anything is better than those wretched manhole covers.

Borrowdale site has a new MHSP for grey waste, but still with manholes. However, as a another motorhomer ponted out, there are so many trees that a grid arrangement would be prone to blockage from leaves etc..
At least the site road is no longer blocked, as pitch 39 (I think) was sacrificed for the SP.
