Granite worktops

A friend of mine is debating between granite worktops or having Granite Transformations to put worktops over the existing ones. As well as  cost being a conideration the kitchen units and tiles are not that old and granite worktops would cause more disruption.
If anyone has used Granite Transformations she would appreciate their thoughts.
