We are thinking of touring rather than Christmas and new year at home this year as last year was a disaster.

What are people's thoughts, good places to stay etc?

Go for it! We have been away for the last 20 yrs over X-Mas & the New Year. We use CLs, but I don't know if that's your thing. There are some club sites that still have places, and there are also centre rallies.

Yes, do your own thing if it is what you want to try. Some glorious places to stay, totally different in Winter months!

How do people go on on Xmas day. Do you book a pub meal or cook in the van. Is there a community spirit on site or do people just do there own thing.

I have never go away for Xmas but there's always a first time

I cook over Christmas. I just like a quiet time with OH. We are away for two weeks. Get out and about for a stroll somewhere most days. If we stayed home I doubt we would be anywhere near as active

We cook a special evening meal but like to take out our lunch....smoked salmon sandwiches, followed by mince pies accompanied by hot mulled wine.... as we usually go out for a decent walk, depending on the weather, of course.Laughing
