New VW Tiguan Factory Fit Towbar Specifications

After much searching and some great support from Lookers of Darlington, I have managed to get the specifications for the new factory fitted, swivelling towbar for the new VW Tiguan.  The team at Lookers Darlington have provided me with some pictures including
measurements, which can be seen at the following link:

In short though:

Distance from centre of towball to rear bumper is 80mm and for the R Line it is 78mm

Distance from ground to centre of towball is 480mm and for the R line it is 482mm

Distance from bottom of towbar to centre of towball is 155mm

I hope this helps if you are thinking of buying a new Tiguan.  After taking one for a test drive and getting this confirmed, mine is now on order

    The swivel tow ball on our Tiguan was the best gadget we have ever had, the 177 DSG was also the best tow car, hope yu enjoy it.

    I hope you enjoy too.  The towbar on my Alltrack is a great piece of kit.  Just a press of the button in the boot and down it pops.  Just pull it up until it locks.  Same procedure to put it back.  No more scrambling on the floor to fit the removebale on
    eon my previous Tiguan. It's the best factory fitted option I've ever had.
