I have just bought a CTEK charger for my 110ah caravan battery.

Should I leave this on all the time over the winter months when it is not being used, or only now and again?

Many thanks

Derek

They're a 'smart' charger  and can be left connected

They are designed to be left on all the time I use mine on my classic car over winter

I leave mine on even over winter but the OHs brother has stopped leaving his on since last year, when his battery developed an internal short which caused it to bulge and overheat. This was a fault with the battery though not the charger.

Okay 24/7 over the winter months it is.

Maybe the bulging battery was getting fat over the festive season like the rest of us!!!

    Many thanks to all

I have two chargers which I use on our cars when we are away for a long time.  Although I knew the answer, I checked with CTek who confirmed that you can leave them on permanently.

This is not the case with some cheap chargers and quite often if you read the small print they will tell you that leaving permanently connected will cause battery degradation.
