Walking poles

Does anyone use them?

Mrs H has one and sometimes takes it on a walk.....never sure why.

To me, they are just something else to carry. Some say they relieve stress on the joints, but when I see people walking with them, they swing them alongside, just touching the ground with them and they don't take any weight at all.
