Pitch Marker Pegs - why are they out of sight?

Here's one that puzzles me. Why, on many club sites, are the pitch maker pegs positioned so that the centre of the caravan lines up with the peg? How are we supposed to see the peg when reversing into the pitch? Some sites have the good sense to position
the pegs in line with the offside of the van - where it can be seen. C'mon - can't we have some common sense here?
