Waterproof Groundsheets against grass friendly

Am i the only one finding that my so called awning groundsheet/carpet is a bit like a sponge in our current weather? i am considering going back to the good old heavy duty waterproof groundsheet of yesteryear, (hardstanding only of course)lol,

Or does anyone have a good waterproof alternative?
