What part of the country? There is a CL between Brecon and Pencelli which is right by the canal side with great views. Or the C&CC site at Devizes is alongside the canal although to see the boats you'd need to go up onto the towpath (about 100 yards). further south the Minnows AS near Tiverton is fairy adjacent to the canal, not sure if it's a stretch used by narrow boats All a fair distance from your neck of the woods though, I'm afraid. Hope someone can come up with some sggestions nearer you. Good luck! .Happy. Use left and right arrows to navigate.

There is a CL, Home Farm, at Stke Bruerne, which is next to the Narrow Boat museum, with a pub adjacent, also boat trips. On the Grand Union canal, Overwater Marina has a CL. Cosgrove Park is next to the grand Union canal

There are a few CLs scattered up and down the country. Suggest use site map, handbook and OS map of area you fancy to pinpoint a few. Hebden Bridge Club Site won't be too far away from Canal?

Pridewater Estates have a CL adjacent to their marina at New Mills in Derbyshire. The CL is all hardstanding and has excellent toilets and showers aswell as EHU. It is within walking distance of the town and all it has to offer, close to railway and bus
routes. The historic Bugsworth Basin is only about 3 miles away where there is a nice dog friendly pub. Details on CC website. Check out UKCANALS NETWORK website for others.

High Onn CC site is a 15 minute walk from the Shropshire Union.  You can do a lovely circular walk from the site taking in a mile or so of towpath, and a longer walk into Wheaton Aston to have lunch at the canal-side pub. There are a number of marinas in
the area but all a drive away.  Also a few canal side pubs, all a drive though.  Don't know any Club sites that are actually canal side, but recently saw a small site in New Mills on the Peak Forest Canal, right at the marina.  Could be a CL or a CS, not sure.

The Brecon site is but a short walk from the Brecon and M canal and you can walk to Brecon along it in half an hour or walk/cycle for hours in the opposite direction.River Usk to one side and the Beacons to the other and lined with Spring flowers  in April-we
are going back for a second visit this year because it was so peaceful and enjoyable.

Try Mawr just outside Ellesmere in Shropshire is right alongside the Llangollen canal although is a CS and therefore C &CC. It's a gorgeous site about 4 acres in total withe EHU and toilet/shower facilities. Think it was about £13 per night last May. Lovely
walks around Colemere from the site too!

Take a torch, you can walk through the tunnel on the tow path, great fun watching the boats go through. There is a hand rail all the way through.

New Mills Marina is a great hard standing site in a lovely location. Not the cheapest CL but you do get a decent shower suitbale for familes and for disabled people. Pitch at the front of the site and you can almost fall out of bed into the canal. The same
firm also have one just outside Leighton Buzzard which was grass pitches. The canal is about 150 yards away from the furthest pitch, the pub about the same distance.

Last used a few years ago (so will need to check if still up and running): Sawley Marina Caravan Park near Long Eaton between Nottingham and Derby. 10 pitch site within the marina which overlooks the canal linking with the River Trent. Lovely towpath walk
along the canal and then riverbank to two pubs + cafe on site + pub near site entrance. Plenty of activity around the marina.

If you are also a member of the C&CC their Devizes site is just a short walk from the Kennet and Avon.

Well, yes, it took some doing! But it was a trial run just to check that Lady settled in the van, which she did, fortunately!

Also, Mrs M, who is an "artiste" had to keep coming back for Oliver rehearsals - show is next week, tickets available at all the usual outlets but selling out fast ( or so I am told!) Wink
