Caravan Show bargain or not?
Hi, we are looking to purchase a new awning and was wondering if its worth waiting for the caravan show at the NEC. Do you actually save anything from buying there?
Thanks in advance for replies.

When I bought my last caravan and awning I went to my local dealer and told him that we were going to buy a caravan and awning, we were going to the show to negotiate for a fantastic price, and would he like to assist us in avoiding the drive to Birmingham.
We did a deal on the spot but I knew exactly what I wanted and how much I wanted to pay by doing extensive research around several dealers to see what they would do for me.
Then the local dealer beat the lot of them. Remember saving a few quid and something goes wrong (not much on an awning admittedly) then it's a pain to have to go to a dealer many miles away.

I already had recieved an offer from my nearest dealer before the show,so had that offer to fall back on,however at the NEC a motor mover was included from the manufacturers and an improved offer on the original was made.
I did not know about the motor mover offer before the show.
The deal was finalised when the £220 alko wheel lock was part of the deal.

We visited a dealer before the last nec show and not only got £2k off the list price but we had the choice of the Lunar show offer (a motor mover) or what we wanted a roof mounted 150w solar panel plus the price difference against the two products
not to mention the generous px allowance. Now thats what i call a good dealPaul
