Gas Regulators - Sizes

Hi there, can anyone tell me how to identify whether my gas regulator is 8mm or 10mm?  The current regulator seems to be blocked and I'm picking up mixed advice on changing regulators - swap for a cheap regulator and change the hose to s/s versus a straight replacement, but before I can replace it with anything I need to work out the size.   There is a CE number on the current regulator but I cannot see a fitting size.  Can anyone help?
