Following on from the numerous posts about speeding on sites, I just had to mention an 'incident' we noticed at Brighton last week.

Twin axle caravan arrives around 5pm, goes past the front of our caravan at some pace. A bit further on is a bend in the site road, around a nice grassed area.

The wardens have placed coloured posts in the grass, all around most such bends on the site.

The new arrival whizzes around the bend and manages to take out six of the posts!

With each one, the front of the caravan hit the post, then both of his caravan wheels on that side bounced over each if the posts.

How could he not have known? Anyways, he just pressed on regardless.....

Pity the posts did not bounce up and dent the caravan sides.

At the end of the day the Club is a colection of people whose only connection is caravans and motorhomes and otherwise they are a cross section of the community. It is inevitable we get our share of idiots like all passtimes.

We were at the Scarborough site a few months ago and it had been wet and there was (IMHO) literally a forest of poles lining the roadways to protect the grass. I did complain as there were so many (impossible to reverse onto pitch) and could damage vans,
the answer was they are designed to simply fall over and lay flat...

Well, as it happened, Mrs Warden was stood on the bend collecting bin bags at the time and saw the whole incident.

She smiled, shook her head in amazement.......stuck the posts back in the ground and carried on with her work.

Not much chance of the rules being enforced then.

Write your comments here.....Please correct me if I'm wrong, but are the warden staff not paid a salary to ensure that the site rules are complied with and to take the necessary action against those who damage the site infostructure.

It may well be ( and this just my opinion) that if the warden knows that the member is only staying a couple of days then they may not want to get in to altercation with that member ,

How would the warden staff out doing the bins know how long a new arrival was staying for?

Who would be a warden, last week one was getting a right bashing on the forum for telling somone off for washing her hair in the prep sinks, now another, or wife of one has been made to look as if shes not doing her job for not telling of the careless driver
with the van who knocked the post's over, I think when the club advertise warden's jobs they should add a thick skin is a must..

Write your comments here...I cant agree with your post-------------.IMO

If a warden fulfills his/her job description to the best of their ability , then they will have great job satisfaction and the respect of their customers.

They dont need to care whether they are liked or popular... Thats not in the least important.--------

Doing the job properly is what matters.

Just to say......this post was about poor driving standards. I started it with a comment about a particularly poor driver.

I was then asked if I'd reported it to the wardens and I replied that I didn't need to, because she was stood there watching it.

If you wish to read this as a 'warden bashing' thread, that's perhaps your interpretation of the situation......but it wasn't my purpose in starting the thread.

This sort of driving makes me mad Yell  No need for it.

I'd just like to say that it's not the warden's wife. She is also a warden and therefore has the same status as the male warden. Perfectly capable of taking action if she chooses

Just a point folks. Is it correct to refer to a member of staff as " the Warden's wife". IMO this is a demeaning job title.... In this day and age surely the couple are both employed as wardens. Women have equal rights to men nowadays.

On another similar point, the CC is a non discrimatory organisation and in this modern age of diversity the warden couple could equally be two two ladies or two gentlemen.
