A75 to New England Bay

Hoping someone can help? We've been to New England Bay and Garlieston about 4 times now. There is a lay-by which looks to be part of the 'old road' where you can pull in ,well off the road. It also has a snack bar which serves breakfasts, sandwiches etc.
It's west of Dumfries, but we can't remember exactly where? Any ideas please?
