Paying the bill

A chap I know who runs a big organisation received a rather large bill from the trade organisation he's part of. Some in the company thought that he should have known it was coming, but he made out that it came as a surprise.

Anyway, at first he said that he refused to pay it. But then later, he did a bit of a deal with them and told the rest of the company that he'd struck a bargain - got the bill halved!

Turns out that in reality, they already owed him a lot of money and just took that off the bill.

Some people eh?
