Sites with fishing.
As I posted in another thread I wouldn't mind taking up fishing again if there was a river or pool on site. Can anyone recommend good sites for this where the fishing is good. I don't want anything extreme, just somewhere where I can tiddler snatch using
a telescopic rod and reel.
As a start I will recommend one of our local club managed sites just outside Hereford, Lucksall. You can book a pitch next to the River Wye and I believe it costs £5 a day and you buy the ticket on site. All the species of river fish can be caught but most
fish for the chub, barbel and pike. There are also shoals of dace and if you hit one you'll catch for ages. There are also roach, trout, perch, gudgeon, eels and the occasional bream or carp. As a salmon river it's been in decline for some years like other
rivers but lately chad have been making a comeback. You can also launch your own canoe from Lucksall and they also hire out bikes.
