Inflation rate

The official rate of inflation in the UK in June was 1.9% - does anyone agree that it feels like a lot more than that?
Also, the index is calculated from prices of the various products and services that we buy, all put into a 'basket' and given a weighting, according to how much of an item we typically buy.
Apparantly, the following are some of these weightings:
Transport 16.2%
Housing, water, gas, electric, other fuels 14.4%
Recreation and culture 13.4%
Restaurants and hotels 11.4%
Food and nonalcoholic drinks 11.2%
And so on.
Does this in any way resemble how people spend their money? It doesn't for me.
