Alko wheel ok fitting

when I put my caravan on my drive when not touring I can't always get the wheel lock locating position lined up to apply the lock how do other people get around this problem, I have an alko chassis on my caravan which means I can get an alko sissor jack
but is there a cheaper alternative,

    Most of us  find lining up for the wheel lock a bit of a pain , however a bit of movement each way always sorts it , I use my mover .

    Can't help wiv the jack , sorry .

    When on site my motor mover is fine as there is always enough space to make the adjustment but on my drive I am restricted for space as I need to get the van as close to my garage as possible to allow my car to get parked behind it so I don't always have
    enough adjustment

    Try a wheel clamp instead and it pays to be wary of most things Alko in my experience.

    We don't have a motor mover, but always manage....eventually...... with small movements back or forward to line it up. Once we even managed to get both on ! ( twin axle ). We even took a photo of that ! 

    Good suggestion by Tinwheeler, if it becomes too much of a pain.

    I use a trolly jack, always jack to fit as I have a twin axle. Qiuck and easy. And always leave caravan attached to car whilst jacking it is much safer.

    Is it acceptable to jack the caravan to fit the lock without having it attached to my car as where I need to place it means it's not possible to attach to the car

    Of course it is - with care. Dealers/repairers don't attach tow cars each time they want to lift a van. A trolley jack is the best bet but a wheel clamp will mean you don't have to jack the van.

    If you are only jacking it up to rotate the wheel to locate the jack you should be okay but remember you will have to leave the handbreak off and the caravan will have a tendancy to try to rotate if its not hitched up.

    Could you not engage the mover before you jack it up and release the handbrake and then use the turn tight or left button to rotate the lifted wheel? The wheel on the ground shouldn't move as the mover should hold it still as that wheel won't  be powered?

    Just a thought.

    Another thought (this is getting dangerous) can you attach the caravan to the towcar to hold the van steady or is the hitch at the garage?

    Easiest way I find in a very similar situation as the spokes always end up across the receiver is chock one wheel put the steady down for extra security then jack up with alko jack, release handbrake spin wheel into place fit lock, drop wheel down and reapply
    handbrake alko jack is quiet quick and easy to use on a drive

    Hatter the hitch is at the garage door end,

    madhouse4 this is exactly what I want to do just wanted to make sure it is acceptable, my only concern now is the fact my drive has a slight downward slope so I would be relying on 1 chock to hold the caravan in place, would it be worth chocking the jockey
    wheel?
