Caravan/home insurance link

I wasn't aware until I contacted an insurance company for my home insurance via a comparison web site that touring caravan insurance is linked with your home insurance. I was asked about previous claims on home insurance and I could only think of one, however,
I asked tham to check the insurance database. Imagine my surprise when I then found that an accident with my caravan was shown up. I then had to try and contact the caravan insurer at the time to see if it was claimed under buildings or contents.

Be warned fellow caravaners that when applying for new home insurance, declare any claims made on your caravan insurance. Failure to do so would invalidate any future claim on your home insurance and possibly vice versa.
