Breakaway cable

At yorkshire coast caravans on Thursdaybwhil hitching uo I put my cable with the heave carabina clip direct on the towbar, they said that was wrong it must be put arount the towball as alko advice, 1; my towbar fitter said it should be cliped direct to the
towbar, 2; if the coupling comes adrift the cable can jump off, 3; if it is the ball that has come off i.e. the bolts come lose the cable round the ball serves NO purpose and the vun will be speeding back down the road

We have a swan neck removable towbar . And always looped around towbar , but was informed by a very nice and knowledgable warden at cherry hinton cc site to thread it thru the loop affixed to towing bracket , also to get towbar checked on discovery as some
had been recalled which we also did :)its actually looking a bit frayed so am going to try and change it next time im out in van cheers mrs bc
