Fuel on the motorway services with a caravan

The comments seem to have wandered off the original query. It wasn't about bladder size or the price of petrol, it was access with a caravan to normal fuel pumps.
I came up the M5 this week and, as I needed fuel I followed the caravan signs in two service areas and was directed to the HGV car park (which I expected) and the HGV pumps (which I didn't). These high speed pumps are not intended for normal vehicles, they pump at a high volume with the risk of splash back. You also have to lodge you card details before drawing fuel.
It would seem the only way to get to the normal pumps is to ignore the caravan signs, fill up at the regular fuel station and drive on to park elsewhere. Height is not a problem there are many non-HGV vehicles taller than a caravan.
Directing caravans to HGV pumps is a stupid inconvenience.

There is an Asda just off the M6 at junction 44. up the slip road turn left and a couple of hundred yards turn right at the lights and Asda is just there. Can't remember if it is on the left or right. That is the only one i have ever used.
Anyone know of any more.?
it's on the left

I know motorway fuel isn't cheap but to Me if on holiday and towing , I just use them and fill up and it's a bit like going to London , You just pay the price in the pub . No I am not made of money but sometimes convenience is the easy option . To do with
mileage driven in one day , I was in My mid 20s then but 1000 miles on a BMW motorbike in 24 hours Spain to Carlisle and yes I fell into bed and slept like a log0 -
Most of us aren't in our mid 20's anymore.

Can just beat that but only by a few miles.
1075 from Paul Ricard to North Yorkshire on a XS1100 2 up and full camping kit (via Calais)
Not putting the time here as it will no doubt upset some
In my late teens.

It varies with the person Dakota. I know I would not be alert enough driving duch a distance. So I don't. Others are able to maintain concentration for much longer. In my 20's or even early 50's no problem.

Some time ago I worked in the midlands of England and went home to Scotland every weekend. Not wanting to prolong the journey I had a nice routine for the fuel station at Tebay (not the new services). I would stop and stick the fuel nozzle in the tank filler
and engage the lock; head into the kiosk and put down my card; pick up a hot pie, start to eat it and head to the toilet. By the return the pie was finished, the fuel pump had cut out, the dransaction was charged and all I had left to do was sign, retrieve
card, replace nozzle and I was on my way in less than five minutes. That place is now a truck-stop but will sell diesel to anyone if the nozzle fits!

We usually used maybe 4 or 5 sites in a 3 week holiday before I retired, we never had just one destination, but after once doing 400 miles in one day, I realised that it was too much for me (then aged 56), so resolved to take it much easier and make the journey part of the holiday.
Back then we only stopped for 1 night on the way on our first day, now we often make it 2 days so we can relax and see a little of the area. First and last days we do often travel maybe 300 miles, but otherwise try to keep to a max of under 250, often much less.
