Front locker gas strut.

Hi everyone I wonder if you can help me.

My Swift Challenger front locker gas strut mounting has come loose. It looks as tho the previous owner had this problem and I have inherited it. The bracket which the strut fixes to has come loose and try as I may I can't find a solid part of the upper face
of the locker to get a firm fix. Wonder if any of you have had a similar problem and perhaps could give me a tip on how to solve the problem.
