Keeping it clean and tidy

Recently on staying on a CL I encountered a caravanner who thought the hedgerows were for dumping waste food and vegetables. Within a few hours there were at least two rats spotted.I don't mind squirrels but the health dangers from rats especially when they
feel they are being fed is high, and with young children around ,if they get between them and their food there is the danger of being bitten. I have come across this before and suspect it is more common than we would like . As it is a CL the club cannot do
a lot other than ask people to be more sociable in their camping habits.I am not a Victor Meldrew but come on I've heard all the superior comments in regard to other clubs but this is not good behaviour. Has anyone else seen this? I have on a Club site once
and the wardens soon sorted the problem (they were moved to next to the milking shed very aromatic with bins right alongside). There is also the point that a rat might as do squirrels decide to eat the cables or the wiring on your vehicle (rabbits are well
known for this, evidently they like the covering on the cables)
