Caravan Tyres

I have just purchased a Bailey Ranger 510/4 2001, which is currently in storage. As the caravan was sites by the previous owners, it does not come with a spare wheel.  The Bailey book for 2001 shows in the specification section for my caravan's tyres to
be 175/R13/94N. Although the tyres on the caravan are 175/R13C/97/95R. Is this okay?  Also I have been offered a spare wheel but the size is 175/R13/85. Is this okay?

The last bits of the codes are speed rating and load index. providing the load index number is higher and the speed rating is above N in the alphabet then your fine. Having said that, and given the age of your caravan I would suggest just buying 3 new tyres for the sake of safety alone.

Before buying new tyres check the date code on the tyre wall. It is possible that the tyres have been changed recently .......... although unlikely perhaps.

ET, unless there is a recent receipt for the tyres currently fitted in the vans documents, (within the last year- 18 months ?) I wouldn't bother as they will be a completely unknown quantity.

Two threads with the same title. One new and one 5 years old. If you try to post in one, the chances are you'll end up in the other. 😖
