What about cats?

We have 2 yorkie dogs who  love their caravan holidays. We also have 2 cats and we always have to leave them at home. They are not alone though as a neighbour looks after them. I don't like catteries. We had a cat escape  when we tried cat leads.
Sadly she died and it devastated us. Does anyone have any ideas about taking cats whith us. All suggestions  will be greatly appreciated.
