What to do with teenage lads near Uttoxeter?

We are off to uttoxeter racecourse CC site on Monday for a week. We have almost teenage boys (11 & 13) and wanted any recommendations about things to do nearby (up to an hour by car, max!) We already have a few things on our list..... Alton towers, and a
national trust house and gardens (cannot remember its name!)..... Any other recommendations? The weather looks set to be dry all week thankfully, do outdoors stuff would be best, but some cold/rainy day ones would also help?

p.s. Our trip is thanks to DavidKlyne(sp?) - who recommended we try racecourse sites last year (our first season with the van) and we did warwick, and loved it, so now we're off to uttoxeter!!
