There has been a few things on the web about this , I thought i would add a bit . These door locks are so simple ,the hardest thing is flicking the red and green plugs out , to gain acces to two of the four screws holding the two halves of the lock together
,the shaped hartal emblem needs flicking out as well . Back to the start ....... You need to get a pair of combination circlip pliers ( toolstation £4.00 ) and a electricians screwdrivers to flick the covers out .Dont omit circlip pliers . you could spend
hours looking for it when it springs off . Take the clip off and pull the handle out . They are just too stiff . I had a way up ,of removing a bit of plastic with emery cloth which could be done ,but I prefer to be a bit more effective so got my dremel out
with a used barrel shaped mandrill ,it took about two mins to clean up the hole and make the handle a nice sloopy fit . wash the debris away spary it with a silicon based lube and refit . The difference is astonishing . Well worth doing .

Word of warning: make sure you re-assemble correctly. Mine was a bit too loose, and locked me out, by "jumping" to locked position. I found circlip wasn't in groove after previous owners work.

But agree, it's an simple and important job to do. There are a Few posts on Hobby sites about this.

I did miner a few years back, using emery to ease it doewn a bit. Don't remember the circlip but then I don't remember lots of stuff now.
