Hello Everyone.  Has anyone used the Stena Line Belfast-Birkenhead sailing?  How did you find it?  If you had a caravan on tow, how was the embarking/disembarking?  We are due to set sail in July.

Used the route many times, though with us being solo with no caravan we usually end up on the top deck. The ramps can at times be a little fierce so you need to take car when embarking. Try to do it an angle if necessary can help. The ferry itself is good
and a lot better than it used to be. Get a cabin, even for a day sailing. Happy sailing.

I used this route two years ago WITH my caravan and no problems whatsoever. The caravanner who was infront of me said to me as we were in the queue waiting to board standing outside of our vehicles had I used this route before to which I replied no then
he quickly replied that when driving on you must go at an angle, watch me. Well with me it is just the case of in one ear and out the other. I thought this was a load of poppy cock it make not a halpenny worth of difference, I just drove on as I have done
everywhere else. The caravanner whom was behind me said when we got out of our vehicles on board that he watched me and was surprised that it made no difference at all and that he was told that he should do it and consequently did it as a standard manoeuvre
but said watching me there was no reason or benefit at all for doing this and that he was glad he saw me as he was no longer going to perform such an act. I have never had to do that at Dover, Pembroke, Fishguard, Birkenhead or anywhere else over the years
and don't intend starting now it is just a figment of one's imagination.
