Good evening,

I'm a camper vanner with a 1978 VW, but a friend has rcently acquired a Car Cruiser Clipper. Its built on a B  & B Trailers chassis, which i believe to now be Al-Ko. It was purchased as a relatively nw outfit in 1967 and stayed in the same ownerhip until
very recently when it was removed from a barn. We reckon it would have  been built in 1964 or 1965 - would that have been by Cooper Coachworks in Bedford? Would love to find out some more about this very original van!

I do remember the make many years ago but they have been out of production for many years and not sure what is available now. There is a Classic Caravan Club who might have some information if you try them.

B&B were a British chassis manufacturer who were bought out by ALKO in the 80s and were closed down. If they are towing with this they need to fit the slightly larger imperial tow ball as the ALKO metric one is slightly smaller and if the hitch is worn can break free.

If it is 64-65 I believe it would be one of the Hayes built vans. B&B chassis where bought out by ALKO in the early 80s and moved chassis production in 1999 from Leamington Spa to a new factory in Southam Warwickshire. Some spare parts for the original B&B
chassis are available form Peak trailers in Banbury.
