12N 12S conversion to 13 pin

Hi, after 30 years towing, yesterday I committed the dreaded cable drag and 'took out' most of the 12N cable.  About a foot left emerging from the A frame. Two options are available, either splice a new piece of 12N cable and a plug onto what's left. OR,
get a conversion kit with two seven pin plugs and a female 13 pin socket leaving the necessity for a 13 pin plug attached to the 12N and S cables on the van, ie two cables into this 13 pin plug. Has anyone done this or is this even advisable. Cheers.

    This what you mean? easy job to do, double cable entry into 13 pin plug.

    Chris's looks very neat and I assume it plugs direct into a 13 pin socket on his tow vehicle.  You seem to be suggesting doing the same (presumably with shorter cables) then plugging a splitter into it??  I would be a bit concerned about the weight of the
    2 x 13 pin connectors pulling the cables down even more than usual, unless you intend to mount the socket securely under the A frame somewhere?

    I suggest a 13pin plug with a decent length of single cable back to a junction box under the A-frame to connect in the existing two cables.  There may be one there already somewhere.
