Thetford N97 fridge flame meter

We have a bailey Ranger 470/4. When using the fridge on gas we found that the meter on the fridge did not register but heat could be felt from  the flue outside. Is it possible to repair  a flame meter , if so , how, or is it necessary to replace the unit?.
