When coming north to Scotland, please protect yourself against being infected by the serious Lymes Disease.

The disease is contracted by contact with the blood sucking Deer Ticks and Sheep Ticks.

Experienced Scottish hill walkers always ensure that they wear the appropriate clothing.

Recently we are seeing people coming up here and going hill  walking  in shorts and ankle socks making it easy for the ticks to jump on to the skin.

The best way to protect yourself is to wear long walking trousers and gaiters.

Please also carefully check your skin and clothing when you return from your day out in the hills and remove any ticks you find.

Scotland is a great place to have caravan holidays just take sensible precautions
