Hoping for cancellations

I don't doubt its been answered many times before but the Search is a little problematic ********

If a CC site is fully booked for the dates I want and its still 6 weeks away, is it a case of ringing the site on a regular basis or can you get put on a waiting list as such. I'm a CL user normally but using two CC sites this year, hence my being vague on the issue
