Electrical Connections - 16amp external lead

I wonder if there is an electrical expert reading this who may be able to give some advice? My Motorhome is outside, but covered during the winter months and the 240v power lead attached. This keeps the accessory battery topped up and with the aid of a Sterling
Battery Maintainer, the Engine battery is also topped up as soon as the former becomes full.

My problem is that the three pin connector on the end of the power lead tends to get very hard to disconnect, due I guess to lack of regular unplugging and moisture in the air over the winter months. I have seen on the 'net that it is possible to get a
lubricant for electrical devices. Has anyone used such a lubricant and does it work and is it safe? Is there any other suggestion that members could make to overcome this smallish problem? Any constructive comment would be appreciated. Thanks.
