Volvo V50 2.0 and Sprite Major 6TD

We're new to caravanning and have ordered a Sprite Major 6TD.  Looking at towing it with a Volvo V50 2.0 which has a match of 86%.  We're not experienced caravan towers although hubbie has towed boats in teh past.  Would it be OK or too close to the mark?
 It's only a temporary measure until new hubbie's new car arrives late Summer but would be looking to tow the caravan down to Cornwall from Lancashire.

    Thats not a bad match,but it might be advisable when you get your van to have a trip out to a  couple of local sites to get the feel of the big white box,before doing a long journey as the first trip

    Thank you.  Yes plan is to do some short trips with it before hand.

    I don't anticipate you will have any problems. I towed the same van, all be it the 2010 spec, with an S60 from Glasgow to Devon in 2012 and there were four of us in the car, and it coped admirably.
