One you've typed your text in the reply box, decide on what word(s) you want to highlight as a link, i.e. a full URL or 'here' is a link ...

Left click and hold the mouse over those words to 'highlight' it.

    Right click and then 'copy'

You'll see the 'unbroken chain link' become available

Click on that and a box will open for you

Paste what's in your clipboard into the 'Link URL box'

    Click 'insert'

Your link will then display in blue

It's the same with a tablet or iPad. Use whatever system your device has for selecting and copying text. It doesn't need a mouse.

With an iPad you tap and hold and a sub menu comes up IIRC.

    Nope, still don't get it.

So I type out my reply, highlight a word within it and copy that word, click on the unbroken chain, paste the word that I highlighted into the 'Link URL' and the word selected turns blue........but how do I link that word to a web site?

Is there a bit missing from the instructions?

Edit - oh I get it now.......from David's post, it's the web site you paste into the box, not the highlighted word........
