Scottish sites, Stonehaven, Grantown on Spey, Braemar, Forfar, Crail, Pitlochry.

Where is our site in Pitlochry?

    Wish there was!!

...no club site but there are a couple of commercial sites there, also a site at Blair Atholl and a site in Perth.Smile

Low season price of £26 for the likes of us with a dog and it's 7 miles from Pitlochry too, a fair bit of a walk to the town!!.....no thanks.

I also have quite an extensive list of UK campsites which are near towns or near transport links here just look for the green motorhome symbol next to the site report.

Burrs Country Park at Bury. Lovely park at the gates of the site to walk the dogs and 20 minute walk into Bury or the bus not far from the site and links into Mancheter, lovely site if you can get a booking :-)

and apparently the station to/from the East Lancs Railway will eventually be opened next Thursday. It's only been 20+ yrs in the making Cool

I know this is an old thread, but I have a facebook group where members post reviews of sites where you can leave your motorhome(or caravan) on site and walk, bus or cycle to somewhere. The group is called pitch and park. I would love to put your reviews on there, would that be OK David?

In 2012 I started a thread for 'UK sites where no car was needed'. It was a sticky for a long time & I used to periodically update it with a full list of all sites mentioned. Then it was removed from a sticky & placed on another thread where helpful information was stored. Then the new software put an end to me finding it. Perhaps you can have more luck and find it? This is a big problem I feel with this Club & the forum as a whole, such valuable information should be easily accessible to all and provided by the Club. Even when you read the Club magazines touring articles there is rarely, if ever, any information for people who do not have their own vehicle transport other than a car. Regards, Roy
