Do you empty your van for winter?

Last year was our first season as caravanners. We did not use our van between sept and march. We emptied EVERYTHING out when we put it in storage - cushions, bedding, pots and pans - everything!! But is this necessary?? This year we are planning on a much
shorter 'winter'. We will not be using the van for 3 months max. Am interested to hear what others do in preparation for storage.
