Car valuation for insurance

What is the best and most accurate way of getting my car valued ? I have been getting insurance quotes and this year every company is saying that I must tell them what the value is of the car. I don't recall this in the past.

If I have a good educated guess at the price, but it is under-valued they will only pay me out a proportion of any claim but if I over estimate the value I'm sure they will not pay me more than the actual value.  It seems they are in a win / win position
unless an accurate value can be found.
