I removed the spare wheel from under our new Lunar caravan to make sure that the tyre was up to pressure. I have to say that although it was not easy to remove the spare it was not so difficult as on my previous Abbey.

However, when I tried to get the cradle back up into position I found it impossible to locate the left hand (axle side) of the two 'prongs' that go through the chassis. A quick examination under the 'van showed the reason. The waste water pipe from the kitchen
sink was located immediately above the tyre. The tyre then pressed onto the pipe when trying to replace the cradle and, looking at the marks on the pipe, the tyre is in constant contact with the pipe.

In order to get the cradle back up until I can find time to re-route the pipe very slightly, I had to use my trolley jack and very carefully and gently lift the cradle.

Whoever put the spare wheel in place in the first instance must have seen that the pipe was in the way. Surely there is actually a design plan for the route of the pipe so that it avoids obstructions. Then again, perhaps not.
